音乐喷泉的最理想场地
遍布各地的湖多数位于公园等城市景区内，水面开阔，水位稳定，且观众集中，是建造大型主题音乐喷泉的最理想场地，根据湖面形状及观看位置可做长条形或圆形，安装上多采用沉浮式结构。施工工艺可采用围延放水 施工，亦可在岸边搭建安装平台，整体或分段组装，然后拖入湖中指定位置，抛锚固定。 记载，早在我国汉代的上林苑中，就有"铜龙吐水"，这就是一种人工的喷泉工程，可见喷泉应用于园林已有二千余年的历史了。明代地理学家徐霞客曾遍游我国山水风景，他在游历云南鸡足山时，发现一寺 庙内有"喷泉工程"，曾作过如下在描述："（息阴）轩中水由亭沼中射空而上，其高将三丈，玉痕一缕，自下上 喷，随风飞洒，散作空花，前观之，甚奇"。他感到很疑惑：认为既然是在池中置管向上喷则水管中的水不一定是 池水，而且水能喷得如此之高，又不外泄，并保持一定的高度，必定另有水源供水，彼下此上，与之等高，才保持 平衡。经过他的调查研究，他终于发现在这喷泉工程附近的三丈高一个山崖上有水源，从山崖以锡管承接，并由地 下埋伏数十丈至池沼中后，始向池心竖起之故。这大概是我国喷泉公司利用自然水设置人工喷泉的原始做法了。
